Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
1. Introduction
Lumos Fellows ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our platform and Program.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Name and email address (via Google OAuth sign-in)
- Projects and submissions you create or share within the Program
- Progress data, such as modules completed and quiz results
- Communications with us, such as support requests
We also collect limited usage data automatically, such as pages visited and time spent, via Vercel Analytics. This data is aggregated and not personally identifiable.
When advertising measurement is active for your browser, we also collect limited campaign information such as UTM parameters, a Meta click identifier, Meta browser identifiers, the marketing page visited, and whether that visit led to an application, a qualified application, or a first payment. We do not send application essays, financial-aid answers, school information, or program activity to Meta.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide access to the Program and its content
- Track your progress and personalize your experience
- Send important updates about the Program
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Improve our curriculum and platform
- Measure which advertising campaigns lead to applications and first payments when advertising measurement is active
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a PostgreSQL-based platform with row-level security policies. We use Google OAuth for authentication—we never store your Google password. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your data with:
- Service providers that help us operate the platform (e.g., Supabase, Vercel, and Tally)
- Meta, when advertising measurement is active, to measure advertising performance
- Instructors and staff involved in delivering the Program
- Authorities if required by law or to protect our legal rights
6. Cookies and Advertising Measurement
We use cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session. These are essential to the functioning of the platform and cannot be disabled.
On our public marketing pages, Meta advertising tools are optional. For United States visitors, advertising measurement may be on by default unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you turn it off below. For visitors elsewhere, these tools remain off unless you select “Allow advertising measurement.” When active, Meta Pixel may use browser storage and we may send privacy-filtered conversion events through Meta’s Conversions API. Turning measurement off does not affect your ability to browse or apply. Your choice does not affect authenticated program pages, which do not load Meta Pixel.
Advertising-measurement attribution records are restricted to service-role systems and are retained for no more than 400 days. They are not included in instructor-facing application views.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, please contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify enrolled participants of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
